Qingdao¡¢Changchun and Nanchang Wanda cinemas which are invested by Wanda Group and designed by CineChina, will open on the 15th,22nd and 29th of April.

It is unprecedented in Chinese film history that three cinemas continuously in only half month. Although at the present time, the development and construction of cineplex is in its high speed period, but there are few investors that actually execute the investment plan. The action of Wanda, out of question, has demonstrated that Wanda has already stopped being an armchair strategist and has entered an entire action period when the main market hasn't in deed stared and when other cinema investors are still hesitating or lacking in capital.

The three Wanda cinemas under construction have as much as 22 screens and 5,000 seats which will extend the existing "Wanda Cinemas Family" from the original 5 cinemas--Tianjin,Harbin, Dalian, Wuhan,Nanning--to 8 large cineplex with 63 screens and more than  15,000 seats.

It's no doubt that in 2006, Wanda may absolutely maintain the leadership of being the largest cinema investor and operation company in China.

Only Wuhan, one of the cities that the present 5 Wanda cinemas located in, is in the second standard film market, which has unadvanced cinema equipments, inadequate film sources and poor marketing. However, all of these Wanda cinemas rapidly drive the local box office and make a whacking increase of 50% even to 100% after their opening. In 2005, the box office income of 4 Wanda cinemas have been listed in the national top 30 of box office, and especially, Tianjin Wanda cinemas has become the sixth of the top 30.

This year in Feb., Wuhan and Harbin Wanda cinemas have also joined the national top 10 of box office. With the progress of Wanda¡¯s projects in Beijing¡¢Shanghai¡¢Ningbo¡¢Yinchuan and other cities, the territory of Wanda chain cinemas is ranging from North to South, and from East to West. By the end of 2006, Wanda Cineplex can add up to 15 cinemas with more than 100 screens and as much as 30,000 seats. However, with the opening of the additional 10 new Wanda cinemas, the outstanding rise of the box office of the whole Wanda circuit, which became the sixth of the national box office depending on merely 5 cinemas in 2005, can be expected.

The meaning of this rise is not only the joy that the increasing box office has brought, but the more important point is that the high quality cinema equipments and service concept of Wanda cinemas have impulsed people "going into cinemas" which can provide the atmosphere of film watching culture. Wanda's contribution to the prosperity of local film markets, especially those areas where the cinemas are desolated, is outstanding and obvious to all;Furthermore, the audience that are formerly in the cities which belong to the second level film market, can be provided with first-run films and can avoid the unwilling consumption of pirate disks.

Wanda's force in deploitation as well as their efforts and achievements in cinema investment have given great confidence and model to those investors as well as film workers who are still wandering outdoors.

We have the reason to believe that the year of 2006 will be a representative swift developing year of Wanda chain cinemas.
